28 Years: 10 Bond Movies, 6 Generations of Camry, 5 Presidents, 1 Computer Guy

Rich Bauman

January 22nd, 2008 - This year will mark 28 years Rich Bauman has been an employee at Beaverton Toyota and consequently Russ Auto as a whole. From working on warranty claims under the stairs to working on computer programs at the top of the stairs, Rich has always been known as the computer guy. Russ Jr. has even gone planetary in his praise of him. "[Rich] is like the sun to our earth: without him the dealership would freeze over in about 8 minutes." So when your computer inevitably breaks be sure to say thanks to the computer guy. And maybe track down some plastic dinosaurs as a gag gift or something…

Jerry Baehm retires as Rental Manager

Mr. Rental himself has left the building. Jerry leaves us for the pastures of retirement after almost 11 years at Beaverton Toyota. He kept the rental department running smoothly and even showed up on Sunday mornings to make sure all his cars were where they should be. Jerry will be coming by on a part time basis to help his successor, Sheryl Bush, transition so be sure to leave him a note or give him a call wishing him all the best. Thanks a bunch Jerry.

BT is Becoming a Signature Dealer Again!

January 15th, 2008 - Welcome to the New Year! Beaverton Toyota is determined to be better and stronger than ever this year. Part that goal is to implement the Signature process into the dealership again. This gives every employee a chance to look at processes across the dealership and give managers a fresh perspective and opinion that may very well improve the way we do business. If you missed all the meetings (how dare you!) be sure to stop by Carrie's desk in Scion and ask to sign up for a group. Customer Impact Area Meetings will be starting in early February.

Joe Vullo

September 28, 2007 - Shipping & Receiving Specialist Joe Vullo has retired after many, many years of employment, 11 of which were at Beaverton Toyota. He worked hard at getting shipments in and out the door back in parts and making sure claims and warranty items were all squared away. He always had a story to share and a quick wit. With all the time he has now, we fully expect to see his old car restored among all the other projects he has started over the years. We'll miss you Joe, come by and say hi soon!

Golfer drains three hole-in-one shots in a month

May 25, 2006 - Stolen from Ron Carlson and KATU.com Web Staff
Mike Segel is a good golfer, but in the course of one month, he had a string of amazing shots that would make Tiger Woods blush with envy. Segel holed three aces in just over 100 holes of golf - an unheard of feat. Most players go their whole life without hitting a hole-in-one, let alone three of them. While some may doubt the incredible tale, Segel's pal B. J. Hollowell was with him for each ringer, along with other witnesses. Even long-time players like Andy Rheel, the resident pro at Forest Hills golf course, says he's never seen such a great stretch of luck. Even KATU Sports reporter Ron Carlson, who joined Segel for a few holes, was able to nail a hole-in-one for himself, sort of. See the video here.
